Courage specializes in the holistic well-being of adolescents having difficulty dealing with mood disorders. The Courage virtual clinic provides a winning, comprehensive approach to addressing the ongoing challenges faced by our youth today who are experiencing these mood disturbances. At Courage Virtual Clinic, we understand that becoming an adolescent can be a difficult time for the whole family. Adolescents experience hormonal imbalances, peer pressures, academic stressors, and familial instability. For adolescents to navigate mood disturbance, these challenges can be a confusing time that shapes every aspect of their lives. The mission here at Courage is to offer a safe environment and supportive team where adolescents can find non-judgmental solace, support, and solutions to reclaim their mental health and a strong will to face these challenges.

Virtual Medication and medical share Psychoeducation?

Courage Virtual Group Medical/Med Consult has helped many individuals manage their illnesses better. It has been shown to alleviate mental health stigma, reduce isolation in patients with mental illness, and improve outcomes in patient life than individual treatment. The group will meet every Monday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, in a virtual line, to discuss and share ideas regarding their fears and concerns regarding medication and medical concerns. It’s beneficial to the newly diagnosed with mental illness. This includes: Psychoeducation on medication management/compliant/medication side effects, mediation benefits, and depression treatments, Sleep hygiene, healthy sleeping habits, Physical activity, Behavioral activation, Substance use/Sigma regarding substances used to treat mental illness, and Identity formation

Need help with Children and Adolescents with Anxiety/Panic Attacks? Have them join the CBT Skills Group!

World-winning CBT is used to treat any teen living with childhood anxiety and panic attacks. Adolescents will meet Virtually online each week to learn different ways CBT can be used while enhancing their coping skills to help them manage their anxiety effectively. The adolescent will begin learning about anxiety/panic attacks and how the disease reforms their body and mind. The world-winning team will introduce the core principles of CBT and teach about the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Group participants will also learn about the different types of cognitive distortions (unhelpful thoughts) and how they can increase anxiety. Lastly, they will learn how to challenge and reframe these unhelpful thoughts to reduce anxiety. There will also be opportunities for participants to share their experiences with anxiety and practice coping skills in a group setting, develop a plan to support them in managing their anxiety, and engage in interactive games that reinforce the new learnings. Group details: Meets virtually on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. Five consecutive weeks long. Each session lasts between 60-90 minutes Groups are closed but offered consistently throughout the year; Participants will be with the same group members each week.

How are visits done?

Initial visits are conducted in the office face-to-face. Subsequent visits or therapy sessions are done virtually in the comfort of your home, using video, telephone, text, or email counseling. Services include: Patient self-scheduling through a HIPAA-compliant, secure website. Making all appointments through the Courage website. Operating hours: Monday through Friday: 9 AM - 7 PM Saturday: 9 AM - 3 PM Sunday: Closed School day hours for kids and parents can be requested during the initial intake. Hours can be extended during a crisis.

Stella Okeke], PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) As a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with 16 years of experience, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. My practice encompasses a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders, holistic care, I have worked with different groups of patients such as child, Adolescent and Adults, it’s has given knowledge and wide range of experience in this mental health despite the challenges. I have had 16 year of experience working with this groups of individuals, most of all, I have learned a lot. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from [Shenandoah University], followed by a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health from [Walden University]. I am committed to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest advancements in psychiatric care, and as such, I continually seek out opportunities for continuing education and training. This is why I have enrolled myself in DNP program specialization in Adolescent and elderly adults care. In my practice, I emphasize the importance of collaborative, patient-centered care.
